Considerations for Developing Online Instruction and Virtual Laboratory Activities

Including practical lab activities for high school students in virtual settings is one of the greatest challenges in distance education today. Ten case studies of technology-based virtual education courses were analyzed to provide guidance for educators interested in developing high quality inquiry-based science instruction through distance education. Four issues were identified that educators tended to address as they developed their courses:
